RECENT WATERCOLORS
Carlos Giordano’s interest in objects and shapes as a pictorial pretext goes on to his more recent representations in which ethereal dancers dissolve in fluid movements and warm colors becoming themselves abstract forms as well as his floral shapes look like petals of his magnolias and his tulips. Fading forms sometimes contained by sharp lines that shape contemporary masks. Unrecognizable characters who hide behind black glasses and bandages. Textile and soft layers given by his skillful use of the watercolor. Shapes that express themselves in movements, in gentle and delicate material.
Circus art like justification of a fading magical world. The anonymous bodies are once again at the mercy of the movement and the color at its purest state.
Everything here is aimed at showing and at the same time hiding. Everything is both ephemeral and real.
