Carlos Giordano personal exhibition
The subjects of this exhibition are chosen only as pictorial pretexts because the artist tries to find beauty, poetry, irony where it is usually not found.
A remarkable aspect of his work is the irony. “Other artists have no intention of having fun but I do” and he adds “The problem is not what to paint but how to paint it”.
Giordano’s paintings stand out from the way pastels are used: the amplitude and size of the design, the variation of depth, rhythm, compactness and the final layer of pure pigment.
Carlos’s paintings suggest rest but also movement as seen in a series of diagonals compositions.
Also the combination of bright / dull colors adds dynamism to the works which is also highlighted with an extraordinary contrast of warm colors opposed to soft hues.
Using the artist’s words: “I would like to restore the vital and essential importance to the everyday objects.”
